Hi,

I've been researching Typo3 as a solution for clients at work, and while it seems ideal in theory, I've been having problems getting it to work.

The problems are very odd; if I mark a page as the root of the website or rename a page, it breaks entirely and comes up with an error reading "The requested page does not exist!". Also, when making new pages, they will only appear if I go into 'Functions' > 'Create Multiple Pages'. If I right-click in the tree structure and go to new page, I get the 'The requested page does not exist' error.

At first, I thought I was doing something wrong, but I'm beginning to wonder if there could be an issue with the server settings. We're using a Media Temple Shared Server which runs MySQL 3.23.58, PHP 4.4.1, Apache 2.0.46 (Red Hat), and we're using Typo3 4.1.1. Does anybody know if there are any issues with these settings at all, or if I'm just doing something stupid?

I've been trying to find out more about the problems but I'm having no luck on my own! Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Melissa

No probs with server enviroment. Didy ou enable simulate static documents before changing root's page name? If so, that may be the cause.

Try left-click on the icons of the page (within site-tree), these icons that infront the page name, and wait to get the context menu and click show to see the page. You get the error again?

cheers

Hi Kocho, thanks for replying so quickly.

When I click on the icons and go to 'show' in the menu, the page appears in a new window but it still shows the error.

The error occurs when I change any page name, not just the root, but I don't think I've enabled simulate static documents -- I've not got the box checked in the configuration and I don't have any TypoScript which mentions it.

The error also appears when I try to change the page properties from Standard type to Advanced. Is there something I need to set up before I can do this? Even if I try to change it back afterwards, the page just shows that error message.

well if you dont have much pages, start again, either delete the site tree or start from scratch with a new dummy+src distribution as a new site
