Install windows, can I then migrate to Linux

I do not have my own web server, I use a web hosting provider. They seem to have all the requirements that I may need. All the reviews I have read say there is a HUGE learning curve to this. That's fine with me, in fact I'm looking forward to it. But I would like to do the learning on my laptop with the windows installer.
My question is, a month, two months, or even a year down the road, when I have put in endless time and effort, will I be able to migrate what I have created to my hosted linux server, or will I have to start from scratch.
I'm not worried about the mysql database, more or less this CMF and the configuration settings that come along with it, ie;
do the php scripts ever refer to the OS specifically, or since it's like running apache on a windows based system their will be no conflict with just copying the files to a setup on a linux based system.
I'm sure there would have to be an intial setup already established on the linux server, but could modified items be interchanged between the windows and the linux systems with little or no ease.
It's not a big deal, as what ever I create will make a good intranet CMF on my local windows machines. But the goal is to learn on my home computer, while creating something I can throw up on my web hosting account.
Thanks in advance,
Robb |

Hi rob!
Well, I have used the Export/Import Feature in Typo3 (found on page, and click on the globe of the site root). This allow you to export your entire Typo3 site and Import it on another Typo3 Installation. It save all, inlcluding templates, images, and users. |
