Subject description: installing typo3 4.0 on MyHosting.com issue

Hi,
(Excuse my ignorance in advance)

I have worked with a number of CMS's over the years and am excited about the power and features offered with Typo3.

As such I am trying to install Typo3 on my web hosting at MyHosting.com to play with, though after altering the initial page to disable the die function I now get the following:

localconf.php is not found!

This file does not even exist, though I have a feeling it may be something that is part of their Apache or PHP config?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Steveo,
There is no such directory in my exploded directory tree. Confused

I had downloaded the typo3_src-4.0.zip file and expanded it then uploaded it to my webspace which is PHP/MySQL as I have had Mambo/Joomla running in no problems recently also using the same method

Is this the correct package that I should have downloaded from the Typo3 site and then uploaded to my webspace???

Thanks in advance.

Just upload the dummy-package into the same directory and Typo3 works.

If the package you're installing just installs the /source/, then you have just to create a file at 'typo3conf/localconf.php'. You're also going to need to create a bunch of other directories.
