 Datamints Newsticker not linking to external pages

My website has external link news items as well as regular news Items. I can't get Datamints to link to external news items. The Datamints configuration page allows you to specify a page to link to; this would usually be your News Details page. When I click on the link in the newsticker, it tries to open the news item using the News Details page, which will not work.
What I've done as a workaround is created regular news items that have a link to the external page in the news item body. However, this is not an elegant solution as it means an additional click for the user.
Does anyone have a better solution? Or whether any of the other news tickers handles this problem? |
